our last winter hurrah

(i wish)

So, like, here's what I wore today blah blah blah

I apologize for the lack of enthusiasm, but my outfit was mildly boring, plus where we went to take pictures was SO MUCH COOLER than any ol' outfit post!

hat: homemade, scarf: f21, shirt: target, coat: ???, jeans: jcpenney's, boots: steve madden
As I was blogstalking today like any normal person does on their day off of school and work, I came across this post (yes she has a better camera than us). I turned to Owen who was sitting next to me in our bed doing homework (don't all normal people do homework in bed? I love our bed so so so much, it is the most comfortable place in the whole wide world. anyways...back on subject) and told him how I totally wanted to go there. He thought that Midway was up past Salt Lake, but then when I consulted Google Maps, I found that Midway was only 40 minutes away! We decided to go.

I don't know what it is, but something about Presidents Day always inspires random trips for us. Last year it was Moab, and this year, the ice castles in Midway. I don't know, but I love it!

Anyway, going here was seriously like stepping into another world. And it's crazy because this little "icy oasis" as I called it (Owen reminded me that an oasis is usually a warm island, but oh well) is right in the middle of downtown Midway (which isn't really all that much of a downtown). We went right before the sun set, but then fifteen minutes before the sun was about to set, our camera died. Dummy dummy me! We took some pictures on Owen's phone but it's going to take me forever to figure out how to get all of them on my computer, so for now, you can just enjoy the daytime view :)

My only regret is that we didn't bring a little extra cash to buy some hot chocolate. Who would have thought that gigantic free-standing icicle sculptures would be so cold?

Husband is such a good poser :)

hoodie: target, hat: qualtrics, coat: f21, jeans: vans (hehehe)

Hope your President's Day was just as adventurous, and hopefully a little warmer! :)

  2. That is so cool! I never knew they existed. I will have to try and get to Midway to see them in person. Thanks for stopping by my blog. It's so nice to get a little extra encouragement. Hopefully the final stretch isn't too hard... I really like your checkered shirt. You look adorable!

  3. This is gorgeous! The closest thing I've seen is the frozen Minnehaha Falls in Minneapolis. But this is waaaayyy cooler.
